Welcome to the mind of a gamer

September 23, 2014

Well, it has been about six months or so since my last update here, so I guess that another one is due. Would you be surprised to learn that I still have not yet replaced my gaming console? It is true, my friends! But do not worry - I am not a reformed gamer and I fully intend to get back to playing games as soon as I get myself a new console to play with. I am actually having a hard time deciding on what to get.

My first gaming console was an old Atari that was super fun to play. Let me tell you, when I was little me and my dad got some serious Atari gaming time on. We played Frogger, Chopper Command, Pitfall, Galaga and so many more fun games. Those ones just happen to have been my favorites. And once the very first Nintendo came out, we got one of those in my household. So, I am very loyal to Nintendo and actually have a Wii in storage right now. Love that console too! So, that brings me to my dilemma.

I want to stay with Nintendo but I am not really interested in getting the handheld DS that they have, even if there are some pretty cool games out there for it. Or, I can choose between a new PS3 and a Xbox 360. Truth be told, I am not a huge fan of Microsoft and not really liking the idea of buying an Xbox, so that really just leaves me with the PS3 or the handheld DS. Honestly though - I am not really liking either of those options. So, what do I do?

I think that the best plan of action for me is to just wait it out a wee bit longer - if I can handle it! I am sure that there will be some great deals on gaming consoles either before or after the holiday shopping season. With that in mind, maybe I can get a really good deal on one of these consoles that I am not too crazy about, which would make the decision a bit less painful. Or maybe I will be really lucky and a completely new gaming console will be released or announced that I will just love...doubt it, but a gamer can hope, right?
